Lurker, looking here!

this past weekend held and attended two artists receptions
one at the san marcos library and the other at joseph bellows gallery

i had reason to look, to see, to stare, to ask, to really look again
for the subjects that are contained in the museum quality frames
and for all the stories in the labored hours before
the public hanging

i change forms
from observing the aesthetic world;

the stories become oral
the image is interpreted by my error;

i never want the conversation to end

i hear the adults shaking the moon down
from its scape and cry unto her cheeks
until darkness drops pins clear

i find that i form,
by the regard of the looker/lurker
friend or familiar
as Narcissus and Echo met the Immortals

into a peacock of beautiful colors
bowing to the dirt on her feet.
