Spring Cleaning

The sky bestows both grey clouds and
high sunshine these early days of
southern california spring

i itch to clean house, literally
and spiritually in search of
new energy, new space
a new place to go home
at the end of the day of work

a place to cogitate and coexist
with my fellow, man

with less/on cox cable bundles
dinners in restaurants
driving through residential streets

spinning as an exercise in futility
“in a rut ” perhaps in favor
of feeling comfortable with who
i think i am, and yet
waiting for the hero in white light
to come into my life and
sweep it unrecognizable

tears and tresses of hair
dropping and jumping
off the head
onto walls,
floors, and
food on the table.

i wash the floors/ but

can i wash your feet with my tears
dry them with my hair
anoint with you with precious oils
of foregiveness and blessings?

  1. Patricia says:

Spring is a hopeful season, a season of possibility and paradox. Cloudy and sunny, warm and cold, a bright butterfly flitting between winter and summer. Even the word itself quivers, wing-like, on the tongue: “Spring”!

Wishing you lots of beautiful butterflies. Happy Spring Cleaning!!
